How are fees calculated in the Performance Fee Structure?

The Performance Fee Structure allows you to earn higher advertising referral fees on General Products as you increase the number of shipped items generated through your links. General Products include those products that Amazon does not pay a fixed advertising rate for and are shipped by Amazon, select subsidiaries (such as Amazonsupply.com) and third-party sellers. Below is the list of product categories that have fixed advertising fee rates and are excluded from General Products:
  • Camera & Photo (Consumer Electronics advertising-fee rates)
  • Cell Phones & Service (phones only, not plans)
  • Computers
  • Electronics (Consumer Electronics advertising-fee rates)
  • Amazon MP3 Products
  • Amazon Instant Video
  • Game Downloads Products
  • Industrial Products and Amazonsupply.com
  • Gift Cards (Redeemable on the Amazon site)
  • Gift Cards (Not Redeemable on the Amazon site)
  • Magazine Products
  • Major Appliances(Consumer Electronics advertising-fee rates)
  • Grocery
  • MyHabit
  • Video Game Console Products
  • Headphones Products
  • Products available on AmazonLocal (local.amazon.com)
Both Amazon and third-party items count toward your total shipped items, which determines your advertising rate for General Products. As you qualify for each performance level to the next, the advertising rate in the new, higher level will be applied to all General Products shipped during the month. For example, if you refer 100 shipped items in a given month, you will be eligible for the third level and earn 6.50% on all General Products and flat fees on other product categories (e.g., 4.00% on CE Products), whether shipped or sold by Amazon or a third party, shipped during that month (subject to any caps set forth in the Operating Agreement).
