Introducing the new Card format for Native Shopping Ads exclusively on SiteStripe

We are happy to announce the launch of a new format of Native Shopping Ads, called “Card” format. The new Card format is available for the Custom variant of Native Shopping Ads, exclusively on SiteStripe.

The Card format allows you to display a single product in a simple, responsive and mobile-optimized ad unit. You will be able to insert this ad unit within your articles and further boost overall page RPM through information like image, real-time price, ratings as well as a dedicated “Buy Now” button. With this available right on SiteStripe, it’s quick and easy to link to any product at Amazon.com for your product-article pages.

I’m new to Native Shopping Ads. Tell me more.

Native Shopping Ads provide highly relevant and dynamic product recommendations in a stylishly designed and responsive ad unit that can be placed at the end of content or within the content to create a more compelling visitor experience and shopping opportunity

Native Shopping Ads are available in three variants.

1) Recommendation Ads: These ads automatically display relevant product recommendations from Amazon based on your page content and visiting users.
2) Search Ads: These ad units display Amazon products based on the search phrases specified by you.
3) Custom Ads: You can handpick your favorite products for a given page and show those products in your articles using Custom Ads

Available formats

For each of the three variants (Recommendation, Search and Custom), you can choose from the following formats:

1) Grid format
The grid format displays one or two rows of visual ads (including product images, titles, prices, etc.).
2) List format

The list format displays the product ads as a list of title/price duplets.
In addition to the Grid and List formats, the new Card format is available only for Custom Ads through SiteStripe (explained earlier).

Getting started
To create the new Custom (Card) format, you need to visit the SiteStripe toolbar.

1. Log on to Amazon.com using your Associate Central email ID to view the SiteStripe toolbar.
Note: You also need to make sure that you have not disabled the SiteStripe toolbar previously. In case you have disabled the toolbar, you may re-enable it from the SiteStripe configuration page on Associates Central.

2. Once you log on to Amazon.com as specified above, you should see the SiteStripe toolbar on top.

3. Type in the name of the product in the search box that you want to create the ad for, and click on the product detail page.
4. The option to create a Custom (Card) format will only be enabled when you are on a product’s detail page.
5. Click on ‘Custom’ under Native Shopping Ads to view the ad preview and ad code.

6. Copy the generated HTML and insert it into your page’s HTML code at the position where you want to display the specific product in the Card format.

Tip: You can also look to configure the unit programmatically as the Javascript ad code has ASIN as a parameter.
